Teach on your terms with our part-time teacher training
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new part-time Primary and Secondary teacher training courses, programmes that are tailor-made for working parents and professionals seeking a balanced path to becoming a teacher.
Our part-time teacher training routes offer a practical, achievable way to begin a rewarding career in teaching. With a flexible schedule, in-depth training, and hands-on experience, you can gain your Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) alongside your current commitments.
Why choose our part-time teacher training route?
Commit to three days per week. We know that for many aspiring teachers, a full-time programme isn’t feasible due to work, family, or other personal commitments. Our programme requires only three days per week, allowing you to train for a meaningful career in education without needing to put your life on hold.
Comprehensive training programme. Our teacher training courses provide full initial training with practical, hands-on learning experiences. We’ve designed four intensive training and practice weeks (with full attendance required) to give you in-depth preparation and focused time to build essential skills. These dedicated weeks are spread throughout the programme and offer a deep dive into teaching methods, classroom management and curriculum planning.
Valuable school placements. A critical part of your journey will be the two school placements, where you’ll get hands-on experience in real classrooms. These placements will give you the opportunity to work closely with pupils, gain practical teaching experience, and receive valuable feedback.
Personalised support. Throughout the programme, you’ll have access to a network of support professionals who will guide you through challenges, answer your questions, and help you refine your skills. With their support, you’ll gain valuable insights into best practices and develop the confidence to excel in your role as a teacher.
Earn your QTS in under two years. In just 19 months, you’ll be on your way to a teaching career with QTS. This programme is carefully designed to give you all the skills, experience, and confidence you need to succeed as a teacher—all on a part-time basis that respects your time and commitments.
Who is this programme for?
Our part-time training route is a great fit if you’re:
– A working parent who wants a flexible path to a teaching career.
– A professional interested in changing careers but needing to keep a part-time job.
– A dedicated individual who is passionate about teaching and wants to gain QTS through a more adaptable approach.
Join a supportive community of future teachers
As part of a cohort of other part-time trainees, you’ll have the opportunity to build connections and collaborate with fellow aspiring teachers. This network becomes a valuable source of support, ideas, and encouragement throughout your training and as you transition into teaching roles.
Beyond just training for QTS, we provide ongoing development opportunities that help you stay current with educational trends, digital tools, and inclusive teaching practices. You’ll be equipped with a toolkit for continuous improvement, ensuring you can adapt and grow as an educator throughout your career.
Making a meaningful impact in education
Teaching is more than a career; it’s a chance to make a lasting impact on the next generation. As a teacher, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping young lives, helping students discover their potential, and empowering them with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.
