The Interview Process

Our interview process is designed to enable you to showcase your aspiration to teach, your understanding of teaching and the importance of great teachers on the impact of children's holistic outcomes. Please select the Primary or Secondary option for more information on the interview process for each phase.

Primary Secondary

Stage 1

Trainee Application

All applications are to be made through DfE Apply
The initial screening process checks for the equivalent qualifications at the appropriate level.
The range and type of experience in an educational setting are also taken into consideration.

Stage 2A

Formal Interview

Welcome and introduction, including the vision and ethos of our SCITT.
Formal interview.

Stage 2B

Child Centred Activity

20 minute classroom Activity.
Candidates will be asked to reflect on how the activity went and what they would change should they repeat the lesson.

Stage 3

Results

If successful you will be given a conditional offer based upon you meeting the necessary criteria.
You will be notified of the outcome of your interview on the day.
Feedback is given upon request.

School Visit

A visit to a school to meet the team and assistance with a few lessons.
Candidates will be asked to reflect on how the activity went and what they would change should they repeat the lesson.

Result

If successful, you will be given a conditional offer based upon you meeting the necessary criteria.
You will be notified of the outcome of your interview on the day.
